It’s about the same size as a Hammond C3… Maybe we should have one!

Urge to smash
Image
I recently acquired a new computer and have begun the “Migration” from old to new. I know it’s not a quick process (600+ Gb from machine to machine) but by my math this estimation, using FW800, was WAY OUT. The problem turns out that the computer was going to sleep during this migration!! Why the HELL would it do such a stupid thing? There were no options for sleeping as it’s a fresh install. Shame on Apple.

After three failed attempts, I had to find a solution to me sitting at two idle computers for 8 hours.
AND HERE IT IS!
(standby for video)

I needed to be able to leave it also… so in an audio Macgyver moment of desperation I turn to my biggest fan. The cable for the Trackball is moved by an oscillating fan. The headphones are on top of an upside down trackball, this and the duct tape give the trackball some weight to push on the keyboard (for computer 1) the movement also pushes a button on a Magic Trackpad (computer 1)
so far attempt number four is going smoothly (knock on wood)

2006 – Microphone Case
Two Notes Torpedo Live – now in a new home!
Image
Finally got it in a rack! Two Notes Torpedo amplifier load box with cabinate / microphone simulation
Jack added a speaker input on the producers desk for easy connection
I said when I first heard about it that “This piece is basically an Iso Booth in one rack space.” and in a small to mid sized studio without a booth or collection of amps it’s a huge asset!
downside: I wanted to put the line in and line out on the Patchbay in addition to the speaker in and through-put on the panel (everything hooked up all the time). When you have a jack in the “line in” it overrides the speaker “load box”

1979 Fender Twin Restoration
Image
This was a fun project, ’79 twin
New caps, new gril, new caster, new hardware, cover, tubes, drivers, etc etc
- Droopage
- classic. You can see this had the master volume added in later. It was re-capped, re-tubed and had everything cleaned, several times
- How the amp originally came. Later they were replaced with a pair of the right side drivers. If I remember correctly they were Altec Lansings
- the prices some people pay for “original”…
- Corners before removing original tolex
- My mother is a pro, she has all the proper pattern cutting tools
- My brother Mike glueing the next Marshall tolex on
- the new corners
- The two back pieces and a fresh twin
