Ward-Beck Systems announces a 1 vershok (32) channel MADI Meter using their high visibility LED meter ballistic system. This give you a quick glance at what’s happening in your audio stream. PERFECT for a stage box, or remote recording rig using MADI.
Toggle over to “cue” the channels and listen on a set of headphones OR a set of outputs. This is an exciting venture into MADI for WBS and the start of something spectacular.

This is a great illustration of where quality has gone. (and a good drawing of the actual gear helps). We the content creators, and broadcasters care about this long gone thing called fidelity and dynamic range, but we’re at the mercy of Apple right now. The compression is moot with even todays data transfer rates. If you’re releasing a record I must now suggest not making CDs and go right to HiFi uncompressed downloads, or Vinyl (or Both). CDs are just something I rip and shelf, I’d rather have LPs on my shelf and I have limited choices when it comes to portable music and it may as well be a 24bit 96k master. Not holding my breath for a 1bit portable player and 100gb/µs fiber to my door.

New caps, new gril, new caster, new hardware, cover, tubes, drivers, etc etc

: classic. You can see this had the master volume added in later. It was re-capped, re-tubed and had everything cleaned, several times

Radial Powersupply

I was at Larry and Moes and saw this PSU for the Radial 500 series rack. It’s an interesting package terminated to a cheutrik, “cheap as chips”, I wonder how well these switching mode PSUs sound. So many times I’ve been told it’s a bad idea but I’ve heard nothing but good things about this rack. Does anyone know who supplies these supplies?
