Congrats to Kevin Park and the Lacquer channel team for getting the Neumann VMS70 back in the game. A fantastic project to have been a part of! We recapped the entire audio electronics for Kevin before he had lathe aficionado Chris Muth calibrate it. It’s a fine precision piece of audio electronics and Kevin is one HELL of a lathe mechanic and cutting engineer! It, and he, are in good hands over at Toronto’s Lacquer Channel. I’m excited to cut a few plates myself!

Here is a great set of screw and nut drivers every tool kit should have. They are compact lightweight and consistent. I can carry 20 drivers for the same weight as 5 full sized drivers. I really like that they can also fit in a drill.

Boy am I excited to have been a part of a restoration of a Neumann VMS-70 Cutting lathe. It is currently being setup at Tonronto’s Lacquer Channel and undergoing calibration. I have more pictures to post as we’re done a complete overhaul of all caps and power supplies. More to come…

I’m repairing a Yamaha PG-1 guitar pre-amp and am in need of a reverb tank

The model # I have is 1BB3C1B

1 – Type 1
B – Input Impedance 150 Ohm
B – Output Impedance 2,250 Ohm
3 – decayLong (2.75 to 4.0s)
C – Input Insulated/Output Grounded
1 – No Lock
B – Horizontal Open Side Down

The spring had come apart inside and the other spring must have broken in the past and was removed.

Doing some calibration the other day and I brought old Faithful: B and K Tone Generator and HP 400FL meter. I modified the backs to have XLR connectors and the meter has an isolation transformer in it. Can’t work without them!
