This was a hairy transport… I feared getting into an accident with this load. I most certainly would have been taken out. Also, the weight of them sure dropped the back of the car 3″! Thanks again D, I don’t know what I’ve gotten myself into!

Took a look inside a JL subwoofer… quite the coil and suspension system. http://www.jlaudio.ca/home-audio-powered-subwoofers-fathom
JL audio dominates the Car stereo market in terms of driver quality. The salesman said the best line “We learned a lot from our 12 Volt line of products in designing this home theatre sub” so from now on, Car audio will be forever “the 12 volt industry”

Moving stuff across the country
I most certainly had a busy “reading week”. It started with finishing up a job My brother Mike started. Moving 7 pallets of equipment from my moms garage in Saskatoon. Followed by great visits with Family and friends. I’m sorry I did not get the chance to meet with everyone I had planned to visit with. Things got a little busy in the IT support world and there was so much family to visit!
Three consoles were packaged and palleted up for shipment across the country.
Custom made dollies were built for the two large sections of console frames.
Modules were packed, boxed and palleted. A small fortune in bubble wrap and pallet wrap were employed.
This is the PSU for a console along with a 1″ Studer A80 8 track Recorder that was made transportable.
I’m excited to work on these projects again in my “Spare time”

Ward-Beck Systems “DINNER BOXES” dB-4
Well after some time away, I’ve gotten back to the Dinner Box
The dinner box is a PCB that users can solder EDAC connectors that mate with Ward-Beck Systems Auxiliary modules.
With a standardized 5 PIN XLR power connector, users can simply power up (4) WBS filters and Compressors.
In Addition to power and audio, there is the interconnections stereo linking of the M466 compressors using either M466M OR M467 Noise gate modules.
the dB-4 also allows user to mix and match equalizers: any of the M462, M462A, M462B or M464 Filter interchange seamlessly into this bucket.
A balancing card for M472 eq modules is on the drawing board.

The major change is the addition of XLR connectors… The idea of using a dB25 connector is now optional!

Both latches broke after putting up with other nonsensical deficiencies.
The inside compartments do not work nicely and are very bulky, the lining in the box takes up a lot of the volume and offers little to no protection. The tool holders in the lid fit only the Husky tools illustrated in the picture. If you take the lid lining out, it adds no volume to the case as it’s a lattice work of low grade PVC.
I think it’s actually made from old Garbage bags
Do not buy this product or any product with similar latches
Zero stars is not an option on the home depot site…

I was reading http://professional-sound.com/ (like I do every month plug plug) and saw Joels lovely new studio and Neve Console. Front an centre I was happy to see the set of WBS pre-amps I wired up for him a few years ago. Glad they’re making great records! And congrats to Thomas, who was apparently a regular at Revolution Recording… I just kept my head down and in the back

Introducing: the Ward-Beck Systems RTO-214 Rack Mount Chassis
APKaudio and Ward-Beck Systems are excited to announce a new lineup of retro products. Started with possibly the most requested and in demand item the WBSps.ca has needed:
a 2RU rack enclosure for (2) 14″ WBS modules.
Most rack users have a 3RU box to enclose (2) WBS modules. With Studios shrinking in size and gear filling up the cramped racks with all the killer deals these day… there has been a need for this enclosure.
Originally designed by veteran WBS fabricator Erwin S. for the current lineup of WBS AMS-8 products. The design updates and fabrication are carried forward by Shop Manager and Mechanical designer at Ward-Beck systems Dave Adams. Dave is a master metal smith utilizing the tools that built the modules WBSps users want to have rack mounted. Dave has been working with APKaudio to create a stable platform in a 2RU enclosure.
The BUM (Back Unit Mount) will be pre-punched for however you decided to wire it. Power options and i/o varieties make for easy design.
Future options will include:
– Internal Power supply
– DB25 pre-wired breakouts
– DB25 to EDAC connectors for the modules of your choice
It’s a banana now, but it will be ripe summer 2014!

New Photo Booth
Installed a new photo booth today. Maybe I’ll light it up soon. 
Paint was “dry” so I snapped a quick one with a single light. 
Hatchback pack…
I know now we can fit two of the 2′ cubes and the “little” white one in the car.
Major kudos to HHB Canada for being just the coolest company around. The future and present is in those walls.
