We had a chunk on Monster Cable “Interlink Reference 2 High Resolution total bandwidth balance Audio Interconnect cable with Micro fiber” and a piece of solder in the shop… so we put them through the audio precision.

There is nothing like this meter on the market. It’s nice to have on the bench, excited to get them installed!
There has been talks of 12 channel consoles being made so designs are moving from paper to cad… I’ve been dreaming up a new design of side panel that can lay flay or be stood upright using a support. The idea is to put them on an island in either upright or flat positions. The faders would be flat in the mix position, and angled in the upright position. The back interconnect would be all edacs.
The demands only grow as the systems do.

One of my first ground up restores. This was a console with 12 Mic pre-amps, direct outs, summing and a monitor. It had a “Red Light” on the meter bridge… so I added a switch that said “POTRL” that “Put on the Red Light” and so it became “Roxanne” It’s still in use today but could use some tweaks I’ve learned from experience. We’re working on a very similar project right now, so It’s very cool to look back and learn.
The biggest lesson: it’s hard to put a value on a labour of love and curiosity, but bill accordingly.
I got a new console vacuum today! Backpack Dayton 4TR09… and it kicks serious ass! I hate eBay… but this was the best $125 I’ve spent in a while

My Brother sent me this flea market gem. The power on the schematic was wrong, a cap lead had come undone and it needed some TLC. The output is very low and I may build a little pre-amp for it…

I was 19 years old and moved into the 3rd floor of 115 2nd Ave North Saskatoon. It was RIGHT downtown saskatoon. It had a conference room in it that had the most amazing sounding vault. It was about 560 sq feet. They build me a room inside of a room.
